25 ft. Antenna extension cable N-Male to N-Male Times Microwave LMR-400DB Low Loss Cable for Nebra OUTDOOR

$34.97

Times Microwave LMR- DB is identical to standard LMR plus has the advantage of being watertight. The addition of waterproofing compound in and around the foil/braid insures continuous reliable service should the jacket be inadvertently damaged during installation or in the future.

This is a low-loss N-male to N-male extension cable, Times Microwave LMR-400DB shielded. The cable is 25 feet long and is designed specifically to go between a Nebra Outdoor miner and both our Rokland 6 dBi outdoor 915 MHz miner antenna and our Rokland 8 dBi outdoor 915 MHz miner antenna. If you have a miner other than the Nebra Outdoor, this will not have the correct connector to go directly between our 6 or 8 dBi antenna and your miner.

The antenna to which you will connect this to has a gain. Let's say you will be connecting this to a 8 dBi gain antenna. As the cable in between the antenna and device gets longer, you will experience gain loss. With lesser grade shielded extension cables, the huge drop in gain will mean much worse performance. Our special low loss cable limits the cable loss factor and preserves the high gain of your antenna.

Made in USA. This cable is American made and manufactured for superior performance and quality control.

We do recommend RokTape to seal all outdoor connection points.

Compare gain loss of this cable:

915 MHz application: -0.9 dB (Helium mining/LoRa device)
WiFi 2.4 GHz application: -1.6 dB (standard home WiFi networking)
WiFi 5 GHz application: -2.5 dB (dual band 2.4/5 GHz WiFi to 5 GHz networks)

Compare this to a cheaper RG-58 shielded cable of the same length- the gain loss would be -3.5 dB for 915 MHz, -6.5 dB for 2.4 GHz WiFi, and a whopping -10.8 dB for 5 GHz WiFi

That means standard RG-58 cables have much more gain loss than this cable!

If you invested a lot in your antenna, it is worth the extra amount to get a 400 or better grade low-loss cable to maximize your antenna performance. This goes double for Helium mining- a higher loss cable means you may be getting less reach with your miner, and therefore mining much less.

Why does this cable cost more than other options I see online of the same length?

Cables with a lower grade shielding will cost less because they consume less raw materials and are cheaper to make. This cable is also three times heavier than a CFD-200 grade cable for example, so the shipping cost is higher too- both on import, and for shipment to the end user.
