What is the best antenna for a FreedomFi 5G Helium Miner?
When it comes to FreedomFi, there are two types of antennas involved. One is the indoor 5G small cell CBRS antenna (see also outdoor version) , which is made by FreedomFi, powered by PoE, and connects to the Ethernet port of your FreedomFi Gateway miner. The other is the LoRa antenna, or 915 Mhz Helium antenna, which is responsible for communication on the Helium network and earning HNT.
As of publication of this page, the FreedomFi small cell CBRS is the only CBRS antenna with built-in GPS that is plug and play with your FreedomFi miner. Later in 2022 you will be able to get the Bobber 500 from Bobcat, which will pair a FreedomFi CBRS antenna with their own mining hardware.
If you are looking to buy a FreedomFi Gateway, or indoor or outdoor CBRS small antenna, our partners at CalChip have you covered. Read our guide here to determine if your location is suitable for 5G $MOBILE rewards.
If you want to upgrade the LoRa antenna on your FreedomFi or Bobber 500 miner to boost your witness count on the Helium network and increase your HNT rewards, we have you covered here at Rokland.com- read on below to learn of our LoRa antenna recommendations for FreedomFi Gateways.
