ALFA AUSBC-5m-3 is a 5m (16 feet) USB 3.0 extension cable. This is designed for use with our USB 3.0 capable USB devices including ALFA AWUS036AC, AWUS036ACH, and AWUS1900. This is also backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices. This has special shielding to insulate against power loss- you will notice out of the package it is quite a bit thicker than standard USB cables.
Why having a USB 3 extension cable is important if you are extending a USB 3 device:
USB 2.0 ports and cables limit data speed to a maximum of 480 mbps. This is fine for 802.11n Wi-Fi devices that communicate no faster than 300 mbps. But for today's newer 802.11ac Wi-Fi receivers like ALFA's AWUS1900 USB 3 Wi-Fi USB adapter, which transmits up to 1900 mbps, you need a USB 3.0 compatible extension cable. USB 3 cables allow for data transfer up to 5 Gbps, so you can take advantage of the full speed of your device. If you use a USB 2.0 extension with AWUS1900 instead, your data throughput will be limited to 480 mbps.
AUSBC-5m-3 can be used with any USB 2 or USB 3 device including printers and keyboards. But it is most advisable for use with our high speed USB Wi-Fi receivers from ALFA Network, or other manufacturers such as D-Link and Netgear, to ensure you are getting full speed from your Wi-Fi device. This allows you to place your USB device up to 16 feet away from the computer. If your computer is located away from a window, use this cable to put your Wi-Fi adapter closer to the window for improved reception.

For over 20 years we've been able to offer free sitewide shipping in the USA, but with the latest massive postage rate hike, we are unable to do so on smaller value orders. Rate changes from USPS on July 12, 2026 erased ounce based pricing, so now a 2 ounce item ships at the same rate as a 2 lb one, in some cases almost double the cost.
We know shipping charges are not a fun experience, so we will still offer free shipping on all orders over $20.00 USD. For orders below this value, a flat $4.95 shipping assistance charge will apply. In many cases our actual ship cost will be higher, but by collecting this amount we can continue to offer low prices on smaller items like connectors and pigtails.

Expedited shipping orders placed before 3PM EST weekdays will ship that day. Standard shipping orders ship within 1-2 business days.

Lost packages and insurance
Hawaii & International Shipping:
While Hawaii is not international, packages from our Florida location with free standard shipping may take up to a month. We suggest purchasing expedited air shipping for Hawaii (note batteries cannot be shipped by Air). International shipping options are visible in cart by using the shipping estimator. Transit times posted are estimates. International packages are subject to customs holds and duty payment may be required by your government on delivery. The cost of duty is not reimbursable. International shipping charges are not refundable in the event of a return.

Bulk/High Value Order Returns
Due to the labour required to package and ship bulk orders, as well as cost and stock issues involved in replenishing items, bulk orders of 5 pieces or more are not returnable unless the equipment is defective or mis-advertised, or a return period is pre-negotiated. For non-defective returns over $500, a restocking fee may be deducted from the refund to cover bank or card processing fees.
Backorder/Preorder
Items on back order or pre-order will ship as estimated on the item page. You can cancel an order any time up until shipment. Orders with expedited shipping will arrive in the advertised time after the order ships, not after the order is placed.
