T-Deck is a pocket-sized gadget with a 2.8-inch, 320 x 240 pixel IPS LCD display, a mini keyboard, and an ESP32 dual-core processor. It is not a smartphone, though it looks like one- but you can use your programming knowledge to turn it into a standalone messaging device, or use with coding software for programming.

Keyboard: US QWERTY layout, may have additional symbols or characters on keys in other language in addition to QWERTY but that is smaller print on the bottom of the key and would not affect operation or layout. 

Base vs. Complete vs. Plus Models





At the top of the page you can select the Base model, the "Complete", or the "Plus"

Base model is the classic open T-Deck without case, battery, or GPS. 

Complete model is assembled by Rokland (this is not the T-Deck Plus from LILYGO) and includes:

  • Military green case created by QuantumShadow3D
  • 3000 mAh battery
  • External LoRa connector with Rokland 2.5 dBi 20cm whip antenna
  • Internal GPS via Grove Connector

T-Deck Plus is fully assembled by LILYGO and includes

  • Basic case- no external antenna hookup, only internal antenna
  • 2000 mAh battery
  • Internal GPS

Meshtastic Firmware:

Both base and complete units ship with a recent version of Meshtastic firmware preinstalled. If you wish to update:

  • Web installer
    • Select your device: T Deck
    • Select firmware version: latest beta
    • Select update or reinstall: wipe and reinstall device
    • Hold down trackball, then power on the device with the toggle switch
    • Keep holding trackball, click connect in web installer
    • Select T Deck's USB serial port
    • Click install T Deck, then install, release trackball when erasing appears
  • Other Flashing Methods

Dev Board Return Policy

Development boards are specialty items that generally cannot be resold on return, especially if the firmware has been flashed. Defective boards can be replaced or returned for refund within 30 days of purchase. Non-defective boards can be returned in the same time frame if in like-new condition with a 20 percent restocking fee applied. If the board has had altered firmware or became bricked due to a non-standard firmware flash, the board may not be eligible for return.

Sales tax is required in many states and will be added at checkout if applicable to your delivery state. Tax exempt forms can be sent to our support department.

Lost packages and insurance

International Shipping:

Shipping options are visible in cart by using the shipping estimator. Transit times posted are estimates. International packages are subject to customs holds and duty payment may be required by your government on delivery. The cost of duty  is not reimbursable. Internatonal shipping charges are not refundable in the event of a return.

Bulk/High Value Order Returns

Due to the labor required to package and ship bulk orders, as well as cost and stock issues involved in replenishing items, bulk orders of 5 pieces or more are not returnable unless the equipment is defective or mis-advertised, or a return period is prenegotiated. For non-defective returns over $500, a restocking fee may be deducted from the refund to cover bank or card processing fees.

Backorder/Preorder

Items on backorder or preorder will ship as estimated on the item page. You can cancel an order any time up until shipment. Orders with expedited shipping will arrive in the advertised time after the order ships, not after the order is placed.

Mixed results with Lilygo T-Deck

Mine came loaded with the latest firmware (2.5.15 at this writing) and it works great when paired with my smartphone. It’s handy to be able to send a message “stand alone” without the smartphone, but if I have to rely on the smartphone app, I prefer to carry a much smaller device. I also have the “Fancy UI (2.5.3)” and it works stand-alone once setup, but it’s difficult to install / setup, especially to add channels beyond the default “LongFast” channel, and it crashes a lot. The concept is great, but the Meshtastic firmware has not yet caught up with the hardware features the T-Deck offers. Oh, and the touchscreen is “mirror image” when running the “Fancy UI”. I have not been able to find a setting that corrects it.

Meshtastic has publicly stated that the 'Fancy UI' as it is commonly referred to is not yet ready for prime time and they discourage people from using it unless doing so in a bug testing capability.

Perfect Meshtastic Device!

Could not ask for a better design and build. Has everything I wanted and it has GPS and long battery life. Best part I didn't have to build it and mess it up. I shall be ordering another soon!!!

Unrealized potential

Bought the T-Deck as my first mesh radio because I thought built-in display and keyboard would offer a fair amount of independence from the phone app. It does not. The UI , as others have said, is basically worthless; after 2 weeks, I don't use the keyboard or trackball at all... and only occasionally use swipe on the screen. As a meshtastic radio, it seems to work well and I've enjoyed it... but I don't have experience with any others. On the plus side, the screen and keyboard offer so much potential, I hope developers make real use of them and turn the T-Deck into a device that can be completely (or nearly) independent of the phone/mobile app.

The case is horrible. On off button is extremely stiff and hard to move and the case makes the scroll ball hard to get to. The edges need to be smoothed out on the case.
