WisBlock is an open source development hardware project by RAKwireless, a division of RAK. Using the concept of base, core, sensor, and IO devices, it is possible to build a wide array of hardware using WisBlock.
- WisBlock Base → the block on which the system is built.
- WisBlock Core → the processing unit with the micro-controller.
- WisBlock Sensor → the blocks with a variety of sensors.
- WisBlock IO → the blocks that extend the communication options and interfacing capabilities of WisBlock
WisBlock Base
RAK19007 is the second generation of the standard WisBlock Base Board RAK5005-O. It has several improvements: - USB type C connector - GNSS modules can be used without blocking another sensor slot - improved voltage regulator.
RAK19007 WisBlock Base Board 2nd Gen provides the following interfaces, headers, a button, and WisBlock Connectors.
- One Type-C USB connector
- One connector for CPU slot
- One connector for the IO slot
- Four connectors for WisBlock sensor modules (slots A to D)
- Three 4-pin header 2.54 mm hole pads (GPIO, UART, I2C, Power)
- 2-pin battery interface
- 2-pin solar panel interface

WisBlock Core
RAK4631 WisBlock Core is the data processing center of WisBlock that also provides LoRa® and LoRaWAN® communication. It can be easily programmed using Arduino™ IDE or PlaformIO - both of which are open-source.
RAK4631 consists of a board with RAK4630 LoRaWAN bluetooth module pre-soldered. RAK4631 is available in various frequencies, including 915 MHz for North American use.
