MeshCore Support Policy

MeshCore support coming later in Q1 2026. Read on for more details...

At Rokland we design and sell hardware that is built to work seamlessly with Meshtastic®, an open-source mesh networking platform widely used by the maker and off-grid communications communities.

Many of our devices are also technically compatible with MeshCore, a separate mesh networking firmware project that can be installed on some of the same hardware. At present time our development and support staff and involved and trained in Meshstastic only. While we respect the MeshCore project, we do not currently offer technical support for our products and MeshCore.

However, we have heard the community loud and clear, and understand that MeshCore options and support is what many are looking for. In order to provide that, we need to get our team up to speed on this technology. We don't sell products and leave our customers to fend for themselves- we make sure we can at least provide basic level 1 support, such as firmware updates, factory erases, etc.

What We Support Right Now

Rokland officially supports hardware when used with Meshtastic firmware, including:

  • Hardware functionality and defects

  • Factory firmware versions (where applicable)

  • Meshtastic flashing, configuration, and common troubleshooting

  • Bluetooth, GPS, power, antenna, and radio-related issues within a Meshtastic environment

Our technical support team is trained specifically on Meshtastic workflows, tools, and expected behavior.

What We Do Not Support yet

At this time, Rokland does not provide technical support for MeshCore firmware, including but not limited to:

  • MeshCore installation or flashing assistance

  • MeshCore configuration, settings, or tuning

  • MeshCore-specific bugs, performance issues, or behavior

If MeshCore is installed on a Meshscore device, our support team may ask that the device be returned to Meshtastic firmware before continuing hardware-related troubleshooting. This policy will be changing later on in Q1 2026 so that we can offer support, and we will provide an update when this happens.

This is not a judgment on MeshCore—only a practical limitation. Our technicians are not trained on MeshCore yet, and we want to avoid providing incomplete or incorrect guidance.

Where to Get MeshCore Help Right Now:

If you choose to run MeshCore, the best support comes directly from the MeshCore community and its official documentation:

These resources are maintained by the MeshCore developers and community members who are best equipped to help.

We appreciate your understanding and your support of open-source mesh networking projects. If you ever have questions about Meshtastic compatibility or supported configurations, our team is always happy to help. In time, we do hope to have more resources and support for other LoRa based projects.
