What is Arduino?

The Arduino project began in 2005 as a tool for students at the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea, Italy, aiming to provide a low-cost and easy way for novices to create devices that interact with their environment using sensors and actuators. In 2005, building upon the work of Hernando Barragán (creator of Wiring), Massimo Banzi and David Cuartielles created Arduino, an easy-to-use programmable microcontroller board.

Arduino is an open-source platform for creating electronics. It is popular among hobbyists and professionals for its ease of use and ability to be programmed for a wide range of projects. With Arduino, users can design and build interactive electronic devices including robots, remote-controlled cars, digital clocks, and more. Arduino also enables users to write their own code, allowing for more customization and control over the project. Arduino is also popular for its affordability, as the software is open-source.

Arduino hardware can be found in various stores, both online and offline. Additionally, it can also be found in many electronics retailers or hobby stores.
