New at Rokland: RAK7266 & RAK7266S WisGate Soho Lite LoRaWAN Gateways
We’re excited to add two of RAKwireless’ newest indoor LoRaWAN gateway options to the Rokland lineup: the RAK7266 and RAK7266S WisGate Soho Lite 8-Channel Gateways.
Designed for small-to-medium indoor IoT deployments, the WisGate Soho Lite series provides an affordable way to add reliable LoRaWAN coverage to offices, commercial buildings, homes, labs, schools, pilot deployments, and other indoor environments.
Two Models for Different Connectivity Needs
The WisGate Soho Lite is available in two versions:
RAK7266 – LTE + WiFi + Ethernet
The RAK7266 adds LTE Cat-1 cellular connectivity alongside WiFi and Ethernet. This makes it an excellent choice for installations where a wired Internet connection may not be available, or where cellular connectivity is desirable as an alternative backhaul option.
RAK7266S – WiFi + Ethernet
For locations that already have reliable Internet service, the RAK7266S offers the same compact LoRaWAN gateway concept without the added LTE hardware, making it an especially cost-effective option for indoor deployments.
A Full 8-Channel LoRaWAN Gateway
Despite its compact size and affordable price, the WisGate Soho Lite is a true 8-channel LoRaWAN gateway, supporting eight uplink channels and one downlink channel.

Where Does the WisGate Soho Lite Fit?
We see the RAK7266 series being particularly useful for applications such as building automation, environmental monitoring, leak detection, temperature and humidity monitoring, occupancy sensing, asset monitoring, educational LoRaWAN projects, and IoT product development.
It can also make an excellent gateway for organizations that want to begin testing LoRaWAN without immediately investing in a larger commercial or outdoor gateway.
For best indoor coverage, gateway placement still matters. Installing the gateway in a central or elevated location and away from large metal objects or dense obstructions can substantially improve communication with LoRaWAN end devices.
WisGateOS 2 and Remote Management
The RAK7266 series runs WisGateOS 2, RAKwireless’ gateway operating system, providing an easy-to-use interface for configuring LoRaWAN and network connectivity.
It can also integrate with WisDM, RAKwireless’ remote management platform. For businesses deploying gateways across multiple facilities or locations, this provides a convenient way to monitor and manage a growing gateway fleet without having to physically visit each location.
Which Version Should You Choose?
The decision is straightforward:
Choose the RAK7266S if your installation already has dependable Ethernet or WiFi connectivity and you want the most economical option.
Choose the RAK7266 if you need LTE Cat-1 cellular connectivity, want additional flexibility in how the gateway reaches the Internet, or are deploying in a location where conventional Internet service may be unavailable.
