Our Alfa products support WPA/WPA2 security protocols using existing drivers. A new standard, called WPA3, was recently launched by the WiFi Alliance and will become the new standard in WiFi routers and hardware in the years ahead.
According to TechTarget.com, "the WPA3 protocol provides new features for personal and enterprise use such as 256-bit Galois/Counter Mode Protocol (GCMP-256), 384-bit Hashed Message Authentication Mode (HMAC) and 256-bit Broadcast/Multicast Integrity Protocol (BIP-GMAC-256). The WPA3 protocol also supports security measures such as perfect forward secrecy."
Not all routers will immediately support this new standard. Existing WiFi products will require a driver or firmware update.
Alfa Network Inc. announced in September 2019 that their popular dual band devices, models AWUS036EAC, AWUS036AC, AWUS036ACH, and AWUS1900 now support WPA3 using this new driver update.
Mac users can get a supported driver package for 10.14 here.
Note that Mac use may require disabling of SIP protection.
