This is an indoor omni-directional 915 MHz antenna with 5.8 dBi gain. Also included is a heavy duty magnetic base that measures 2.5 inches in diameter and weighs 11 ounces. The antenna is 15 inches tall.

This antenna is compatible with the RAK V2, Bobcat 300, Nebra Indoor, SenseCAP M1, Kerlink, Linxdot, SyncroB.it, Helium Hotspot, Kerlink, FreedomFi & LongAP. (915 MHz USA and Australia versions only).

Is this 5.8 dBi indoor antenna comparable to the Rokland 8 dBi outdoor antenna?
This is shorter at 15 inches, not weatherproof, and best to put in a window, or a more open area inside vs. where your miner sits. Our outdoor antenna is more effective for IoT equipment/miners if you do not have a high density of other hotspots around you. However, this indoor kit could be a good upgrade over just having your factory antenna connected to your miner if an outdoor antenna is not possible (some HOAs do not allow an outdoor antenna for example).
Beware cautious of gain inflation- some places arbitrarily inflate antenna gain numbers to appear better than competing products. Because gain cannot be easily measured by the end-users, we have seen similar antennas marketed as numbers like 18 dBi to 30 dBi that are not even 20 inches tall. Why buy a 5.8 dBi when you can get a similar looking "18 dBi" for the same price, right? Rokland has been making antennas for over 14 years for WiFi, 4G, and other applications. Our 915 MHz antenna are listed with actual specifications. You also do not want extremely high gain as your path will be very narrow and miss other hotspots.
I see similar looking antennas online that say for 600 MHz to 2700 MHz, is a wider frequency spectrum better?
Antennas with a focused spectrum will have better performance on that band segment vs antennas with very wide spectrum. We would not recommend using antennas that are also WiFi 2.4 GHz compatible with your mining equipment. This antenna has a frequency range of just 900-930 MHz to give you maximum performance.

You can use the included magnet base with the factory antenna of any of the listed miners, or with the included 5.8 dBi antenna. As gain increases, your vertical path will decrease, allowing you to communicate with hotspots from a greater distance but reducing your ability to be in the path of closer hotspots. As your community experiences new miners over time, it may be necessary to adjust what antenna you are using to deal with the density.

Our kit includes 11 feet of CFD-200 shielded coax cable built-in, with RP-SMA termination (to connect to your miner). CFD-200 has a gain loss of just 1.1 dB at 11 feet. Lower cost bases generally use RG58 cable which has a loss of 1.7 dB, over 50% more loss.
Recommended Use
Use with your Nebra, Bobcat, or RAK miner to help increase your coverage area. This is an indoor antenna and not rated for outdoor use. Check for Rokland brand outdoor mining antennas online. We recommend placing this inside near a window, or in a more optimal place for sending and receiving than where your miner currently is.

Lost packages and insurance
International Shipping:
Shipping options are visible in cart by using the shipping estimator. Transit times posted are estimates. International packages are subject to customs holds and duty payment may be required by your government on delivery. The cost of duty is not reimbursable. Internatonal shipping charges are not refundable in the event of a return.

Bulk/High Value Order Returns
Due to the labor required to package and ship bulk orders, as well as cost and stock issues involved in replenishing items, bulk orders of 5 pieces or more are not returnable unless the equipment is defective or mis-advertised, or a return period is prenegotiated. For non-defective returns over $500, a restocking fee may be deducted from the refund to cover bank or card processing fees.
