    Very Nice Little Unit

It was pretty simple to put together and I have had it running and carrying it since the day it was delivered.

Almost perfect. Add recommended battery dimensions and minor design improvements.

Purchased with wisblock starter kit, eisblock gps module, MakerFocus Flat 3.7V 3000mAh Rechargeable Lithium Polymer 11.1Wh Battery , and a MESHTASTIC Gooseneck Tactical Antenna. The battery pack dimensionally was just a bit too long at 66mm long, 36mm wide, and 10mm thick. You can use the battery but not with out some modifications; more on that later. Advise finding a pack that is no more than 54mm. The other dimensions should be fine. Though 10mm is a worrying snug fit. If you go longer than 54mm you run the risk of fouling on the JST Type PH 2.0 Plug for the battery. This will cause the battery to sit taller than the mainboard tray. If the internal cavity for all the electronics was bigger or the whole unit was scaled up slightly, this wouldnt be an issue. The tolerances for parts are very tight.

I was able to get it to work with this battery in the end. Placing the pack on top of the board without the plug inserted, showed it would clear if the battery plug we re side mounted or removed all together. I went with the latter and physically soldered the two battery leads to their respective points where the battery connector was. If the battery leads sit between the core module and the battery it will sit too high.I noticed a section of kapton tape bridging a void in the battery pack along the battery control board of the pack. (Underneath the green tape). If you carefully slice along the center line of the bridging kapton tape and press it into the pack, you can form a small L-shaped channel for routing the battery leads along and in the space between the back of the usb-c port and the core module.

Minor gripes and concerns. The cylindrical protrusion in the case for the antenna connection is a structural weakpoint. Was building out two units and the second one had the sma jack pull free from the case along the 3D print layer lines. Advise finding a piece of rigid tubing with an inner diameter just barely larger than the outer diameter of that antenna jack pedestal and adhering it to the post as reinforcement with construction adhesive (jb-weld will work). The coverplate for the tray is extremely thin. Take care installing it. Lastly I was disappointed to find the black ring on the cap to be 3D printed material. Was under the assumption it was a rubber o-ring to provide some sealing as the threads of the cap are too large and too few to provide a meaningful seal.

    Small, cool look

The case seems to be well-made. It stands 4" tall (base to top of the 'hook' loop) so consider how big your antenna will be in comparison. The 1200mAh battery is a _tight_ fit even without the GPS antenna. If you're adding the GPS system you may want to consider a shorter (length-wise) battery.

I have two functional concerns that other buyers may want to consider.

1-There is no 'off' switch. During assembly the directions (wisely) have you make all the antenna connections before connecting the battery pack. Once you've slid the tray into the housing...you can't turn it _off_. So you can't stop the battery from draining, or make it comply with airline rules in luggage, or safely swap the antenna without taking it apart again. If there is ever a version 2 I'd like to see it include a small slide switch under the screw cover to interrupt the battery positive wire.

2-The black band above the screw cap is not, as I'd assumed, a rubber O-ring. It's part of the 3D printed cap. Even if it allows a small amount of water to 'wick' inside it's not a big deal since the electronics are well clear.

    No Room for a Battery

I tried a 3000mah and 1200mah battery but neither would fit. The case internals ended up breaking during assembly.
